We trekked up some very steep hills the morning after our arrival to find the town's botanical gardens. Either they were gone or the guidebook misled us. I even got up the nerve to ask a guy in Spanish, but all I could understand from his answer was his pointing in the direction in which we had already been searching. We did get to see many wealthy people's homes with very ornate doors, so the trip wasn't in vain.
